I was in Haiti for 6 months back in 1996,working for the United Nations, when I was part of the Canadian military.
You might have heard in the news that it was a terrible place for something like this to happen.
This would be a major understatement.
These people have no understanding of what "comfort"is.
I wouldn't be surprised if there is no such word in CREOLE (their language).
I plead to the politicians to not use this as an opportunity to make themself look good.
Like some of them sometimes do.
I worked for a day,to help fix a wall at the jail in Port-au-Prince,I was very gratefull it wasn't anymore than a day.
The haitians need to deal with that to,because to prisoners that survived the building comming down escaped, obviously.
The people that can help really should.
It would be the human thing to do.
Cheers.

what's being done ??!!
Has you probably have notice before, poeple like to complain.
Yours truly, not excluded of course.Actually,I'm a long haul trucker,so in fact I'm really good at it.
I like to complain about how damaged and rough the roads are across north America.
Yes the trucks are a big contributor to that fact, but the states and provinces charge us outrageous fees in taxes to use those roads every year.If they decide to use that money for something else that fix the roads, then it's hardly our fault.
Anyway,I have the beleif that there is a common situation that always seems to surface when people are wandering what's being done to fix some of society little problems.
THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE THE POWER AND AUTHORITY TO CHANGE THE SITUATION, OR FIX THE PROBLEM,ARE NOT AFFECTED BY IT,THEREFORE,NOTHING IS GOING TO CHANGE.
It's a sad fact of life,
See if you can notice some example of that theory in your everyday life.
When you do...you'll think about me.
Cheers
