Haiti

I was in Haiti for 6 months back in 1996,working for the United Nations, when I was part of the Canadian military.
You might have heard in the news that it was a terrible place for something like this to happen.
This would be a major understatement.
These people have no understanding of what "comfort"is.
I wouldn't be surprised if there is no such word in CREOLE (their language).
I plead to the politicians to not use this as an opportunity to make themself look good.
Like some of them sometimes do.
I worked for a day,to help fix a wall at the jail in Port-au-Prince,I was very gratefull it wasn't anymore than a day.
The haitians need to deal with that to,because to prisoners that survived the building comming down escaped, obviously.
The people that can help really should.
It would be the human thing to do.
Cheers.

  1. The purpose of life is not to be happy - but to matter, to be productive, to be useful, to have it make some difference that you have lived at all. You have done that...and by sharing your point of view now you continue to do so.
